Assoc. Prof. Sehram Dizeci and Ata Khabaz-Aghdam from the Faculty of Engineering have published a significant research article in a reputable SAGE journal with an impact factor of 2.4.

The study investigates the mechanical behavior of dissimilar single lap joints (DSLJs) composed of metallic and composite materials. It highlights the occurrence of premature softening, particularly in joints involving metals with lower elastic modulus, leading to early failure and reduced load-bearing capacity. Through detailed fracture surface analysis, the authors developed mathematical models that establish a correlation between fracture area and ultimate load.

This research provides valuable insights into the design and optimization of dissimilar material joints, contributing meaningfully to the field of structural engineering and material science.

We sincerely congratulate our faculty member for their contribution to high-impact academic research.
