ME faculty members Prof. Dr. Selin Aradağ and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yiğit Taşcıoğlu’s patent application as inventers, “An energy converter” was accepted on 23/11/2020. The patent which is on the utilization of a straight pipe instead of the expensive and not very energy-efficient spiral case of the turbine, is important in changing the complicated nature of Francis type hydroturbines for energy generation. The patent owner is TOBB University of Economics and Technology. The other inventers are Hüseyin Çetintürk who was a graduate student of our faculty members and currently works in Turkish Tractor Factory and Dr. Kutay Celebioglu, the current director of TOBB ETU Hydro Energy Research Center which was established by Prof. Dr. Selin Aradağ.
